Letters of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, 1843, 1852.

In a third person letter, 1852, the Queen notes that she has read Lord Dalhousie's dispatch and has told Lord Derby that she agrees with the opinion of the Governor General [Dalhousie], possibly concerning an action taken during the 2nd Anglo-Burmese War. The letter is written on engraved stationery depicting Osborne House. In a letter to Count Alphonse de Mensdorff Pouilly, 1843 April 7, Prince Albert offers congratulations on his marriage, suggests that he get transferred to another garrison, comments that "Victoria is only a few more days away from an interesting event that will make me appear even more respectable" [the birth of Alice Maud Mary on April 25] and notes Sir Charles Napier's victory in Hyderabad [at the Battle of Miani].
